50th Anniversary of Baba's 1958 Meherbad Sahavas [avatarmeherbaba.org]
COMMEMORATION PROGRAMME OF 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF BELOVED BABA'S 1958 MEHERABAD SAHAVAS ON 15TH, 16TH AND 17TH FEBRUARY, 2008 AT MEHERABAD
Please note that information clarifying rules for accommodation has been updated since the last notice.
Announcing:
Avatar Meher Baba Trust will be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of 1958 Sahavas in which Beloved Baba gave to His lovers at Meherabad between 15th February and 26th February 1958.
The Commemoration Programme will be at Meherabad from 15th to 17th February 2008. The programme will include short speeches by 1958 Sahavas participants, Bhajans that were sung during 1958 Sahavas, a short skit and play based on the deliberations of that sahavas, Burra Katha and a special film show on 1958 Sahavas. 1958 Sahavas posters will be exhibited during the programme.
Also please note that the Commemoration Programme dates fall between Beloved Baba's 39th Amartithi and 114th Birthday. Accommodation at Hostel D is not available to pilgrims up to 5th February. As such, the participants who come for Amartithi should not expect to continue their stay at Hostel D. It was also Beloved Baba's wish that His lovers should celebrate His Birthday at their own centres. It is therefore advisable that participants arrive at Meherabad by 14th February and leave Meherabad as soon as possible after conclusion of the programme on 17th February, so that they can celebrate His Birthday at their respective centres. This applies to accommodation at Hostel D, Hostel C, and any other accommodation at Lower Meherabad. These rules do not apply to accommodation at the Meher Pilgrim Retreat.
With Most Loving Jai Meher Baba,
Jal P. Dastoor, Shridhar Kelkar, Ramesh Jangale, Organizing Trustees, Avatar Meher Baba Trust

AMBPPCT announces new online library of books [www.ambppct.org]
The Avatar Meher Baba Trust is happy to announce the inauguration of its Online Library. It is made available through the Trust web site (click on title's link).
The library offers as its first selections these twelve book titles:
GOD SPEAKS (second edition), by Meher Baba (copyright Sufism Reoriented; published by Sufism Reoriented)
DISCOURSES (seventh edition), by Meher Baba (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust; published by Sheriar Foundation)
THE EVERYTHING AND THE NOTHING, by Meher Baba (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust; published by Sheriar Foundation)
LISTEN, HUMANITY (third edition), by Meher Baba (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust, published by Crossroad Publishing)
BEAMS FROM THE SPIRITUAL PANORAMA, by Meher Baba (copyright Sufism Reoriented; published by Sufism Reoriented)
LIFE AT ITS BEST, By Meher Baba. Edited by Ivy O. Duce (Copyright 1957, Sufism Reoriented, Inc., Walnut Creek, California)
SPARKS OF THE TRUTH, a version of Meher Baba's message by C. D. Deshmukh (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust; published by Sheriar Foundation)
SPARKS FROM MEHER BABA, by Meher Baba (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust, published by Sheriar Foundation)
THE PATH OF LOVE, messages by Meher Baba (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust; published by Sheriar Foundation)
THE WAYFARERS, by William Donkin (copyright Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust; published by Sheriar Foundation)
MEHER BABA, THE AWAKENER (second edition), by Charles Haynes (copyright Charles Haynes; published by Avatar foundation) THE GOD-MAN, by Charles Purdom (copyright Meher Spiritual Center; published by Sheriar Foundation)
We plan to add new titles to this list as time goes on. First to be added are the other major editions of the Discourses: the five volume set, "God to Man and Man to God," and the sixth edition. We hope to go on expanding this online resource of Baba literature available to anyone in the world with access to the internet.
Though the Trust web site is serving as the venue, much of the crucial work in the preparation of these digital texts was done by members of the Avatar Meher Baba Listserv, Baba-Talk. This project was launched in February 1997, when a group from the Baba-Talk Listserv, coordinated by Michael Ivey, undertook the enormous labor of "digitizing" a representative selection of the Meher Baba literature. Our special appreciation is due to them, as well as to the various copyright holders who graciously gave their permission for the online-publication of this material and to the various publishers who helped and supported in many ways. Indeed, the very existence of this Online Library is itself a tribute to the loving cooperation of Meher Baba's lovers and various groups and organizations all around the world, brought together in their common dedication to the Avatar's divine cause.
Please do remember that these books are all copyrighted. Meher Baba Himself made the copyright arrangements for His own books and messages, so in respecting His copyrights, we not only abide by the law but we honor His wish.
Accompanying these twelve book titles, the Trust Archives is also happy to make available a facsimile copy of the two "Intelligence Notebooks," which is the manuscript that served as the base text for the book "Infinite Intelligence." In addition to the 250 handwritten folios we are also providing a concordance that matches up pages in the manuscript with pages in the published book.
As perhaps you know, over the past several years the Trust Archives has been publishing, on "Tavern Talk" (the Trust listserv), digital facsimiles of various documents from its collection. About 650 pages of "The Combined Diary" have been released this way, in addition to almost 200 letters between Baba and some of His close disciples. The Archives is now currently preparing a section on the web site where all this material and much more will continue to be available and which will serve as an online resource center easily available to Baba lovers and others around the world who want to engage in research in the life and message of the Avatar of the age.
We had been planning to include the Intelligence Notebooks manuscript as a part of this online archives, but as the overall project has run into some technical difficulties which have delayed its inauguration, this manuscript is currently being included as part of the Online Library. This intermediary presentation is in the form of ten downloadable pdf files along with a concordance. As soon as the web site's archives section is ready, we will let you know. We hope to present the archival material there in an improved user-friendly format, making it even more accessible.
In this period we are blessed with an abundance of books and messages by and about the Avatar. For the first time in history we also have photos and films documenting His life and ministry. With the aid of electronic media, we are taking the first steps in distributing this Prasad freely to people around the world.
In His Love and Service,
V.S. Kalchuri (Bhau), Chairman
Avatar Meher Baba Trust
